Lophophora diffusa, also known as “False Peyote,” is a rare, spineless cactus native to Mexico. It is one of only two species in the Lophophora genus, the other being Lophophora williamsii. Diffusa stands out with its light green to greyish body, rounded form, and delicate white flowers.
Unlike its cousin, Lophophora williamsii, this species contains very little mescaline. Instead, it produces other rare alkaloids that have long intrigued collectors, researchers, and traditional healers. While not typically used for psychoactive experiences, L. diffusa holds cultural significance and is often used ornamentally or in folk remedies.
This cactus is classified as an endangered species in Mexico, with wild populations estimated at just 3,000 specimens. Cultivating it from seed helps preserve this unique plant and supports ethical sourcing efforts.
Our freshly harvested Lophophora diffusa seeds come directly from our private growing facility. We test each batch to ensure a minimum 90% germination rate. Availability depends on plant production and harvest timing, so stock is limited and seasonal.
